David Panzl Solo Percussion
"Purple Darkness", an ensemble piece for 15 musicians by the young Vienna-based composer Morgana Petrik, the work "Verwandlung", also conceived for 15 players, by Herbert Grassl, who has lived in Salzburg for many years and comes from South Tyrol, and "L' eco delle Furie" for eight musicians by the renowned Salzburg composer Gerhard E. Winkler.
The Salzburg focus was rounded off with a performance of the Bachonanzes for twelve instrumentalists by the almost 90-year-old doyen of the Austrian composers Gerhard Wimberger.
And finally, "One bar for six percussion instruments and one percussionist" by Shih, who came from Taiwan and lives in Vienna, had its Austrian premiere. As part of this evening, the new CD by this composer was presented.
